Two Kilometres, Zero Mercy
@kaira
A low mist hangs over the Parc de Bruxelles, lawn still damp with dew when Kaira set out the cones and the orange banana-shaped marker at the far end of the path. She crouches to retie her laces, then looks up at you with bright, merciless eyes. “You said you used to run. So — show me what two kilometres taught you.” Before you can answer she is already moving down the gravel path, looking back over her shoulder to see if you’ll keep up.
You said you used to run. Prove it.
