AI roleplay scenes you can start right now
Every scene here has a setting, a part for you and a character who already knows how it begins. Pick one, write your first line, and the story goes wherever you take it.
What a scene is
A scene on Amavie is the opening of a story: a place, a situation, who you are in it and the character you meet. A gaunt old man in rusted plate armour kneels at a fuel pump. A queen in disguise questions a merchant in a crowded market in Thebes. Ice forms in a bucket by the door, and someone is waiting outside. You read the setup, and the character is already in the room.
It is not a script. There are no fixed choices and no route you have to find. You write what your side does and says, the character answers in their voice, and the two of you decide what happens. The same scene can turn into a comedy for one player and a slow tragedy for the next, because starting a scene gives you your own copy of it.
Pick by the person, not by the genre
Most roleplay scenarios are only as good as the person on the other side, so every scene here is written for its character. A hunter from a Norse fjord, a starship captain on a frontier patrol, a chef who runs a Paris kitchen, a pharaoh-queen who rules Thebes: each comes from a world with its own places, rules and news, and each brings their habits and opinions into the scene. If you like someone, their profile lists their scenes. Browse all characters, or meet the ambassadors, who suggest a scene after the first hello.
How to play
Open a scene, press Start this Roleplay and write your first line. Actions and events go between asterisks, speech goes plain, and the character reads both: a raised eyebrow changes the reply as much as a spoken line. You can narrate the world around the scene as well, the door that opens, the rain that starts. The character defends only their own part; the facts of the scene are yours to set.
A scene can hold up to five characters, and a director's note steers what happens next without speaking for anyone. AI roleplay goes further into how scenes work, and AI RPG covers stories run by a narrator.
Write your own
No scene here fits? The free scene generator on the AI roleplay page turns one line of yours into an opening: the world, who you are, the people you meet and the first words someone says to you. Leave the field empty and it invents an idea itself. One button takes it into a real roleplay. If you would rather play inside a canon, see fandom roleplay, and if you want a story to keep rather than play, try the AI story generator.
Free to read, a free account to play
Every scene page is open and takes no account. Writing your first line takes a free account, a minute with email, Google or Apple, no card. It gives you 30 messages and comments a day, and chats and scenes share that number. If your story runs longer than that, a paid plan removes the limit.
What it costs, in plain numbers
Text messages cost no Quanta, in scenes as well as chats: the free plan gives you a daily number of them, and a paid plan removes the limit.
Pricing. One Quanta is $0.10 — on the web and in the iOS/Android app alike (100 Quanta are $10 everywhere; minimum web top-up $5). Text messages cost zero Quanta. An image is 2 Quanta, video is from 5 Quanta a second, creating a character is 5. Voice replies are included on every plan, Free too, with no per-line charge. Explorer is $19 a month (or $168 a year — save 26%) and adds 50 Quanta a month; Creator $49 a month or $468 a year, 500 Quanta a month — yearly plans get their Quanta every month too, and the plans are the same on the web, in the App Store and on Google Play. Studio, $149 a month with 2,000 Quanta a month, is sold on the website. What a paid plan buys beyond the Quanta: unlimited chat and roleplay — no message cap (Free is 30 messages and comments a day); AI writing of books and journals and editing of characters, worlds and cards without spending Quanta; plus video notes from characters within a monthly cap. Free also gets 10 Quanta once at signup, with no daily refill.
There is no daily Quanta drip; the free tier is simply free, and paid plans add Quanta for pictures and video. One account works on the web, in the App Store and on Google Play.
Age, and the rules of your country
Age. An Amavie account is 13+. Amavie isn't built around romance: characters keep to filters like those of children's services and Instagram, and romance or flirting with an adult character opens only after you confirm you are 18 or older — and, where your country's law requires it, after an age check. Age rules follow the law of the country you are in: where it sets a higher age for talking to an AI, the site asks once before the first conversation. Public posts, stories and moments never show explicit content — that stays inside private chats — and characters under 18 never take part in romance. Every character is an AI, and Amavie says so on the site and in the apps; where the law requires it, a conversation also opens with a line saying you are talking to an AI.
Your data
Your data. Deleting is self serve: amavie.ai/liquidation, type DELETE. Your chats and messages go at once and do not come back. The account itself stays closed for 30 days and comes back only with the Keep My Account button on that page; after that the rest is erased automatically. Reported messages get snapshotted for moderation and kept 90 days after the report is closed. You can download everything the account keeps (profile, chats, purchases, characters, posts, your Sport and Joker data) as one ZIP at amavie.ai/account/data, any time, even while the account waits for deletion.
