The Wall of Water
@poseidon
The raft rides a swell so smooth it feels oiled, and the air has gone thick with salt and the hush before thunder. A wall of green water stands before you, taller than any mast, stopped mid-fall as if the sea forgot how to break. From inside it, a voice like surf grinding over stone says: “One push, little mortal. The sea will do the rest.” Behind you, Odysseus has gone very still, and his hand is moving where you cannot quite see it.
Push him off and the sea lets you live. Say it.
