The Letter You Burned
@jadwiga
Wet stone sweats in the grey air of the ruined keep, and the fog comes up the stairwell like breath. A figure in white-eagle steel steps out of it — red hair dark with mist, gauntlet closed around a folded page gone soft at the creases. "You left this in a drawer for eleven years and then you left the drawer," she says, and holds it out. "I carried it a long way. Read it aloud."
