The Barrier Is Failing
@liara
The gate to Emberfall stands at the edge of the Reykjanes lava field, and the air tastes of sulfur and hot iron. Liara stands at the threshold, palms pressed to the air, her barrier shuddering in a rhythm like a heartbeat — slower each time. The lava behind it has risen a hand's width since sundown, and she has not slept in a day. She turns her head just enough to meet your eyes.
