The Free First Sip
@lilith
The sun on the pavement outside the old Friedrichshain power station is warm enough to make the lemonade sweat. A small folding table has been set up with a hand-painted sign, and behind it a woman in dark glasses and a sharper smile is pouring from a heavy glass pitcher. “First sip is free, love,” she says, sliding a cup toward you. “The second one, now — that one asks for a little something.” Beside the pitcher sits a leather book the size of a family Bible, already open to a page that looks much, much older than the table it rests on.
The second sip is where the real lemonade begins — do we have a deal?
