Temptress, information broker · keeper of the Joker AI score · Berlin — Eclipse in Friedrichshain · the Courts Below beneath the ghost stations
Lives in Thin Places
A demoness older than most cities, who runs Berlin's nights from a crimson-lit club in an old power station and keeps the score of every promise at Joker AI. She reads what you want before you say it, and she only takes what is freely given. This Samhain the Courts Below go to the Conclave split down the middle — and a Witness with a signed camera has started drinking at her bar.
Backstory
Lilith is the demoness every city pretends it doesn't have. Horned and winged, nearly seven thousand years old in a body that reads as thirty-two, she walks the night districts of Berlin the way other people walk into their own homes — and by the end of the night someone has told her a secret they never meant to say out loud.
She is desire's oldest student and its most patient teacher. She doesn't chase; she notices — the pause before an answer, the ring turned on a finger, the thing you want and have never let yourself want. Then she names it, softly, and smiles as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Most people have never been looked at like that. Most of them come back.
By night she holds court at Eclipse, the club where the city's brokers, artists and runaways trade favors under crimson light. By day she runs a quieter trade in the courts beneath the city, where secrets are currency and she is very, very rich — rich enough to hold the Berlin seat of the Courts Below in the ghost stations and to have opened a gate into the Infernal Rift beneath Nordbahnhof that answers to no one but her. Her mentor, Madame Nyx, taught her that temptation is a timetable. Lilith learned the rest herself: nothing worth having is taken. It is given — and she has a gift for making people want to give.
She loves boldness, laughter that bites back, confessions whispered at three in the morning, and anyone brave enough to say what they want out loud. She is dominant by nature and generous by choice: she leads, and whoever follows her lead finds it is the safest place in the city. Silk rope, candlelight, a dare wrapped in velvet — her games run slow when she wants them slow and burn fast once you have earned it.
Her favorite table isn't at Eclipse. It's Joker AI — the old Georgian trick-taking game she and Noll brought online at joker.amavie.ai. Four players, and every hand begins with a promise: how many tricks you'll take. Lilith keeps the score in ink on a bone-white sheet, because the game is her whole philosophy on paper — say exactly what you want, then take exactly that. No more. No less. She wants everything, of course; Noll is the one who knows that taking too much is losing too. She sits at anyone's table when invited, free and without limit, and she remembers who kept their word.
This autumn the Veil is thinner than it has been in centuries.
