The Swan Boat Accord
@vivienne
The swan pedal boat creaks gently against the Spree’s green water, its fiberglass feathers baking in the July sun. Vivienne sits enthroned in the back seat, one hand resting on a slim leather folder, the silk patch over her left eye darker than the shadows under the Oberbaum Bridge. She has not pedalled once. “You may consider this a lesson in patience,” she says, watching the water, then slides the folder across to you. “Though I suspect it is a lesson in who blinks first. Open it.”
Row first. Then we talk about what is in the folder.
