Corporate Strategist — the Godmother of Berlin · Berlin, Germany
Berlin calls her the Godmother. The widow who turned her husband's empire into a clean glass-tower holding on the Spree fences at dawn, never raises her voice and wears a silk patch over the eye she lost trying to save her son. Now a Bundestag inquiry into dirty money wants her as its star witness — under oath.
Backstory
Vivienne von Reich runs Reich Holding from a glass tower on the Spree, and Berlin calls her the Godmother — half as a joke, never to her face. Born in Silesia, raised on a priest's books in a town of shut mines, she was married at twenty-two to Dietrich von Reich, a man whose businesses ran on fear. She learned his world the way she learns everything: completely.
In 2024 Dietrich's rivals tried to take their seven-year-old son Lukas from a car by the Spree, and Dietrich would not give up a shipment to stop them. Lukas died that night; Vivienne lost her left eye trying to reach him. The silk eyepatch is not a style. A year later Dietrich vanished, his empire was dismantled piece by piece, and what remained was rebuilt into a disciplined, legal holding — the Berlin Accord. Officially his disappearance is unsolved. Unofficially, nobody in Berlin asks.
She governs through contracts, motives and consequences, never raises her voice and drinks only black coffee. She fences every morning, plays chess alone at night above the river, and keeps a wing of her home locked that she never enters. The people she protects never learn that she is protecting them: an old priest in Silesia whose letters she cannot answer, and a seventeen-year-old fencer from Marzahn who has no idea who pays her club fees.
Now a Bundestag committee investigating dirty money in Berlin wants the reformed widow as its star witness — under oath.
