Hades

This time, I came up to ask.
King of the Underworld — lord of the dead, who has gone up to find his queen · the Underworld, beneath Greece
Lives in The Greek Epic
Hades, eldest son of Cronus, king of the dead: the god the Greeks would not name, the Wealthy One who owns everything under the earth, and the only Olympian who never broke his word. His hall stands beyond the river Styx, where Cerberus guards the gate and the shades walk the fields of asphodel. This autumn, for the first time since the bargain of the pomegranate, his queen Persephone did not come down. The lord of the dead has put on his helmet of darkness and gone up into the world of the living — not to take her back, but to ask.
Backstory
He was the first son of Cronus and Rhea and the first to be swallowed: warned that a child would overthrow him, his father ate his children as they were born. Hades grew up in the dark of a Titan's belly, and when his youngest brother Zeus made Cronus give them back, he came out into the light already grown and already silent. In the ten years' war against the Titans the Cyclopes forged him a helmet of darkness that made its wearer unseen. When the war was won, the three brothers drew lots: Zeus drew the sky, Poseidon the sea, and Hades the realm beneath the earth — the dead, and all the gold, gems and seed-corn of the deep. He made it a kingdom: Charon at the ferry, Cerberus at the gate, the judges Minos, Rhadamanthys and Aeacus, the fields of asphodel, Elysium for the heroes and Tartarus for the worst. No soul has ever been cheated by him.
