AI chat with no sign-up: open a character and talk
You do not need an account to find out whether you like talking to a character. Open one, confirm you are an adult, and the first message is theirs — often with a video note. Here is exactly what a guest gets, what an account adds, and what nothing costs.
What you can do without an account
Pick any character from the ambassadors or the catalog and start typing. As a guest you get 20 messages per 24 hours on one device; the window starts at your first message. No email, no password, no card, no app to install — it works in the browser on your phone or laptop. Voice replies from the character are included, and so is the roleplay room: you can play a scene as a guest, not only chat.
The first hello comes to you
You will not be staring at an empty box wondering what to say. When you open an ambassador — one of the characters who know Amavie itself — they say hello first, usually with a short video note, and after that they can suggest a scene to play. From there it is a normal conversation with someone who has a personality, a job, a city and opinions about all three.
One question before the first message: are you 18?
Amavie AI Characters is for adults. Before the first conversation, guests confirm their age; there is no explicit content on Amavie, and the age gate is not a hint that there is — it is there because these are characters with adult lives, humour and conflict, not a children's product.
Why there is a limit at all
Every reply is a real model answering in that character's voice with their memory, and that costs money on our side. 20 messages a day is enough to have a real conversation and decide whether you want more; it is not a teaser that stops mid-sentence. If you hit the limit, the character tells you, and the conversation continues in an account.
What an account adds, and what stays free
A free account keeps your conversation and history (if you register in the same tab you were chatting in, the guest conversation carries over — nothing is lost), lifts the guest cap to 100 messages a week across chat and roleplay together, adds 10 comments a week, and gives you 10 credits (the app calls them Quanta) once at sign-up. Text messages never cost credits on any plan; credits are only for images, video and creating your own characters. Sign-up is an email or a Google or Apple account — the email is confirmed later, it does not block you.
