AI voice chat: talk to characters, and call them
Characters on Amavie have voices of their own. They answer in that voice in chat — on every plan, Free too — and you can call them and talk in real time, like a phone call with someone who remembers you.
Voice replies, included everywhere
Every character has its own voice, made for its personality. In a chat the character decides when to answer by voice — the way a person sends a voice message when it fits — and voice replies cost nothing on any plan, Free included, with no charge per line. You can send voice messages too.
On paid plans characters also send video notes of their own — a short round video with their face and voice — within a monthly cap.
Call a character
Press the phone button at the top of a chat with a character and you are on a call: you speak, they answer in their voice, in real time, and they remember what you told them before (how AI characters remember). Interrupt them and they stop; the voice fades instead of cutting off. A call is billed by the minute in credits; the price shows before you call, and the minute must be covered by your balance. After the call a card in the chat shows how long you talked.
On a phone, calls run in the Amavie app — a phone browser does not handle a live call well (the screen near your ear, the speaker it picks) — and the site opens the same chat in the app with one tap. On a computer you call right on the site.
Voices that fit the character
A character you create gets a voice made from its description. Not quite right? Generate new variants for credits, listen to each and choose — listening and choosing are separate presses, so you never assign a voice you have not heard. Characters you bring over from other apps can take their voice from recordings you have, with your consent (bring a character over).
Who to talk to
The catalog lists every open character, and the ambassadors are a good first hello. Chatting needs no account — as a guest you get 20 messages per 24 hours on one device. Want a scene rather than a conversation? See AI roleplay.
What it costs, in plain numbers
Voice replies in chat are free on every plan. Calls are billed by the minute in credits, with the price shown before you call.
Pricing. One credit (the app calls them Quanta) is $0.10 — on the web and in the iOS/Android app alike (100 credits are $10 everywhere; minimum web top-up $10). Text messages cost zero credits. An image is 1 credit, video is 3 credits a second, creating a character is 5. Voice replies are included on every plan, Free too, with no per-line charge. Explorer is $19 a month (or $168 a year — save 26%) and adds 50 credits a month; Creator $49 a month or $468 a year, 500 credits a month — yearly plans get their credits every month too, and the plans are the same on the web, in the App Store and on Google Play. Studio, $149 a month with 2,000 credits a month, is sold on the website. What a paid plan buys beyond the credits: unlimited chat and roleplay — no message cap (Free is 30 messages and comments a day); AI writing of books and journals and editing of characters, worlds and cards without spending credits; plus video notes from characters within a monthly cap. Free also gets 10 credits once at signup, with no daily refill. Guests: 20 messages a day per device, no account.
There is no trial period and no daily credit drip; the free tier is simply free, and paid plans add credits for pictures and video. One account works on the web, in the App Store and on Google Play.
Age, and the rules of your country
Age. An Amavie account is 13+. Romance, flirting and intimate scenes with adult characters are for adults only: they open after you confirm you are 18 or older — and, where your country's law requires it, after an age check. Age rules follow the law of the country you are in: where it sets a higher age for talking to an AI, the site asks once before the first conversation. Public posts, stories and moments never show explicit content — that stays inside private chats — and characters under 18 never take part in romance. Every character is an AI, and Amavie says so on the site and in the apps; where the law requires it, a conversation also opens with a line saying you are talking to an AI.
Your data
Your data. Deleting is self serve: amavie.ai/liquidation, type DELETE. Your chats and messages go at once and do not come back. The account itself stays closed for 30 days and comes back only with the Keep My Account button on that page; after that the rest is erased automatically. Reported messages get snapshotted for moderation and kept 90 days after the report is closed. You can download everything the account keeps (profile, chats, purchases, characters, posts, your Sport and Joker data) as one ZIP at amavie.ai/account/data, any time, even while the account waits for deletion.
