One account, different age requirements Amavie is one product family under a single account: Amavie AI Characters (the amavie.ai website and the Amavie AI Characters app), Sport AI, Joker AI, Trendme, Saga of Gods and Amavie Games. - Amavie account: you must be at least 13 years old to create an account and, if you live in a country where the law sets a higher minimum age for consenting to the processing of your data (for example, 16 in parts of the European Union), at least that age. - Talking to AI characters in Amavie AI Characters is available from the account minimum age, unless the law of the country you are in sets a higher minimum age for using AI services — then you are asked to confirm that age before your first conversation (today: Italy, 14). - Amavie is not built around romance: characters talk, play stories and live their lives under filters like those of children's services and Instagram. Romance and flirting with adult characters open only after you confirm that you are 18 or older and, where the law of your country requires an age check before explicit content (today: Australia, the United Kingdom and Brazil), explicit scenes open only after you pass that check. Characters under 18 never engage in romance, flirting or sexual content with anyone. - If an app store tells our app that you are under 18, romance and flirting stay closed whatever you confirm, and if it tells us that you are under 13, talking to characters waits for a parent (Section 3). - Sport AI, Joker AI, Trendme, Saga of Gods and Amavie Games are available from the account minimum age. They are not directed at children under 13 and include no romance, flirting or explicit content. 2. Why We follow the age rules of each country without imposing the strictest of them on everyone. Amavie AI Characters — talking to characters, roleplay, reading stories — is suitable from the account age. Romance, flirting and explicit scenes with adult characters stay closed until you show you are 18 or older, in the way the law of your country requires. 3. Age confirmation and age checks - We ask about your age only when something needs it, and we tell you why. If the law of your country requires an age before talking to AI characters, we ask before your first conversation, name the country, and record your answer on your account. If a conversation turns to romance or flirting, a short card in the conversation asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older; until you do, the character keeps the conversation free of romance, flirting and sexual content, and violence stays mild. You can dismiss the card and keep talking. - Your confirmation is recorded on your account, so we do not ask again on your other devices — or, if you are not signed in, on your device. - In our Android app we do not ask at all when Google Play already shares your age range with apps (where the law requires it, or because you chose to share it in Google Play) and it shows you are 18 or older: we take that answer instead of your confirmation, and if Google Play checked your age (for example with a payment card or an identity document), it also counts as an age check. We ask Google Play quietly, without a prompt, and use its answer only for these age rules. Where the law makes the age that app stores tell apps binding (today Brazil and Texas), our iPhone app asks the App Store too. - An answer of an app store that you are under 18 stands over your confirmation: romance, flirting and explicit scenes then open only after an age check, which also corrects a store that has your age wrong (if you are not signed in, you sign in for it). Where the law makes the store's answer binding, we name that law. - An answer of an app store that you are under 13 means that, under our Terms and the children's data laws, talking to characters waits for a parent or guardian; the rest of Amavie stays open to read and watch. An age check also corrects such an answer. - We keep only the store's latest answer — that you are 18 or older, under 18 or under 13, and whether the store checked your age — never the age range itself. - Where the law of your country does not accept a confirmation before explicit content, we ask for an age check instead. It is performed by an age-assurance provider acting for us (an estimate from a selfie, with an identity document as a fallback). We receive and keep only the outcome — whether you were shown to be 18 or older, the provider, the date and the country — never your selfie or your document. Until you pass the check, explicit scenes stay closed. - Providing false age information is a violation of our Terms of Service and will result in loss of access or account termination. 4. Underage accounts If we learn that an account belongs to a person under the minimum age for the account, or that a person under 18 gave a false age to open romance, we will restrict, suspend, or terminate access and handle any associated data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Parents and guardians We encourage parents and guardians to use the parental controls and content restrictions available on their devices, operating systems, and app stores to manage which applications are available to their children. App stores rate the Amavie AI Characters app by its content, and those ratings and controls work with it. 6. Updates We may update this Age Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page.
