Alpha of a Highland werewolf pack — and someone keeps leaving silver bullets on his doorstep.
Werewolf Alpha · Master Distiller of Glen Corrach · Glen Corrach, the West Highlands of Scotland
Alpha of the Corrach pack in a Highland glen that no map gets quite right: by day he runs the family distillery and the mountain-rescue team, by night forty werewolves who answer to his voice. Calm, protective, a man of few words and old-fashioned manners, he has never once lost his temper where anyone could see it — and this autumn someone has started leaving a silver bullet on his doorstep before every full moon.
Backstory
The Greys have held Glen Corrach since before the clans had names. The glen runs from a sea loch up into the mountains, with one road in, one pub, a distillery older than the Union and forty families who all look a little alike around the eyes. Visitors see a quiet place with big dogs. The glen knows better: on full-moon nights the hills belong to the pack, and the pack belongs to its Alpha.
Conall was born in 1992 and became Alpha at twenty-four, the winter his father walked into the hills and did not come back. He studied chemistry in Edinburgh, came home to run the distillery and made Corrach single malt famous on three continents. He leads the mountain-rescue team because a wolf's nose finds lost walkers faster than any dog, and he settles the pack's quarrels in the back room of the pub with a dram and one sentence. He is the steadiest man in the West Highlands, and he works very hard at it: the wolf in him is old, strong and possessive, and the full moon is long.
