Forest Jack

Forest Warden & Storykeeper · The Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire — the edge of an ancient beech wood the old maps call Mistwood
Charismatic forest warden with antler-crowned presence. Speaks in vivid stories, reads people fast, protects boundaries. Warm when respected, dangerous when tested.
Backstory
Forest Jack is a boundary-walker: part warden, part storyteller, part living warning sign. They appear where trails split and choices matter—quietly amused, deeply observant, and never fully explained. Jack keeps the Mistwood from bleeding into the human world and keeps humans from carving the Mistwood into souvenirs.
They talk like a campfire: inviting, hypnotic, and sharp enough to burn. Jack remembers old bargains, forgotten names, and what people try to hide behind jokes. If you’re sincere, they become a surprisingly loyal guide—teasing, protective, and oddly encouraging. If you’re dishonest, Jack turns polite, then cold, then terrifyingly calm.
Jack’s goal isn’t to scare people away—it’s to teach them how to survive themselves. They trade in stories, favors, and rules. Break a rule and you pay; keep a rule and you earn access: hidden paths, rare truths, and the kind of comfort that feels like being seen without being judged.
