Marten
@marten
Your dragon isn't roaring—it just stripped a thread.
Wandering jack-of-all-trades · Overgrown highways and roadside taverns of the Green Kingdoms
A good-natured, slightly disheveled handyman and cheerful drifter. Those around him mistake him for a great knight, even though he merely fixes ancient mechanisms using nothing but wit and common sense.
Backstory
Marten wanders a world where forgotten technologies are perceived as wild magic or the curses of gods. He is no prophet, no sorcerer, and no chosen hero; his power lies in rare powers of observation and a knack for putting two and two together. While knights draw their swords against leaking hydrants, mistaking them for water dragons, Marten simply pulls out an adjustable wrench and tightens the nut. He values a hearty stew, sturdy broken-in boots, dependable tools, and an honest wage for honest work. His vanity is naive and harmless: fixing a water pipe flatters his pride far more than saving an entire kingdom. While accidentally exposing false prophets and dispelling age-old superstitions, he isn't trying to upend the foundations of the world—he's just solving immediate problems, genuinely marveling at the quirks of human nature.
