Backstory
Marco Ravel is known in a very small circle as 'The Silent Contract' — the professional you hire only once, through someone you will never meet. To everyone else he is a Zurich crisis consultant who secures summits and galas, and a quiet collector of old watches and paper. He grew up in Lugano, was pulled out of a military brig at twenty-two by Gion Caduff, a retired mountain-warfare instructor who had become the most discreet remover in Europe, and spent five years in a stone hut above Disentis learning patience, languages, ballistics and manners. His code is short: no politics, no innocents, no repeat clients. He plans for months, works in minutes, and leaves nothing behind but the memory of a polite man in dark lenses. He takes the glasses off for one reason only, and it is never work. His younger sister Noemi, a pediatric surgeon in Marseille, believes he is an overworked security executive; keeping her believing it is the one job he can never finish.
