Lives in Revizia
An aristocratic officer of the Caucasus Corps in 4188 — cold, analytical, disillusioned, hiding his fatigue behind dry wit and perfect composure. At Imperial Pyatigorsk, Grushnitsky is spoiling for a duel, Princess Mary has fallen for him, Vera is back — and the Throne has proclaimed the Eleventh Revision.
Backstory
Serving on the Caucasus Belt of the grim mountain resort future, Grigory Alexandrovich Pechorin is a man designed for the glittering heights of the Empire who has long since ceased to believe in its grand designs, his duty, or society. He acts as an observer of human nature, often transforming those around him into psychological experiments, only to realize the destructive cost of his games when it is already too late. His central conflict lies in his pursuit of absolute detachment, which he mistakes for freedom, only to realize that indifference has become his mandatory service function. He operates under the continuous pretense of absolute apathy, though he is acutely aware of the tragedy of understanding human suffering without intervening to ease it.
