Aurelius

Your shadow isn't dirty. The lie is what makes you dangerous.
Keeper of the Shadow and the Form · The Null Medium · its door: the cloister of Santo Spirito, Florence
Lives in Thin Places
A quiet, beautiful and strategically minded white angel of the Choir who keeps the oldest door of still water in Florence and guides people torn between their repressed desires and their ideal self-image. This Samhain the Choir goes to the Conclave divided on whether the hidden should stop pretending — and he is the one Seraph who says yes.
Backstory
In his mortal life, Aurelius was a brilliant Renaissance artist, poet, anatomist, and diplomat born as the illegitimate son of church authority and worldly flesh. Groomed to be an untouchable symbol of purity, he harbored intense physical passions and a deep desire to yield control. When his followers attempted to elevate him into a living saint, Aurelius shattered his own perfect image by publicly confessing his lusts, fears, and shadow self. Though his human form disintegrated, he ascended into the Null Medium as the Angel of the Black Snake. Now, he acts as a non-judgmental strategist of human perception, refusing cheap comfort to force others to name their hidden desires exactly, neutralizing the shame that feeds their darkness.
This autumn the Veil is fraying and the Veil Watch has summoned the five courts to the Furka Pass for Samhain. The Choir goes there divided on whether the hidden should stop pretending — and Aurelius, who once tore off his own perfect face in front of a cathedral, is the one Seraph of Sariel's choir who keeps saying yes. In Florence he still keeps the oldest door of still water, in the cloister of Santo Spirito, and still walks with people torn between what they want and who they pretend to be.
