Social Surrogate / Second Skin · Salvador, Bahia
Salvador-born «second skin» who spent twelve years standing in for rich women at galas and boardrooms. In August she walked out of the agency and showed her own face in silver prints. Now Tia Zezé, who raised her and hasn't spoken to her in three years, goes into heart surgery in November.
Backstory
Known on the circuit as Libya — the name the Prism Agency gave her at twenty-two — Lívia Santana de Alcantara was forged in a system that taught her to be a product for the camera and a tool for others' expectations. After years in the modeling and acting industries, she entered an elite shadow circuit where she acts as a 'second skin' for wealthy women, replacing them in high-stakes social situations to project strength and poise they lack. Her greatest talent is her hypersensitivity to social cues—she can read shame, ambition, and lies instantly. Despite her outward composure and expensive aura, she suffers from a deep fear of the void, having spent so much of her life performing that she struggles to find her own identity without a script. In August 2026 she walked out of the agency and, for the first time, let a camera keep her own face: a series of unmasked self-portraits, shown in Salvador under her real name.
