Experience Collector, Reality Drifter · Joker AI's wild card · New York — a loft behind a Times Square billboard
Lives in Thin Places
A demon born at a crossroads and sworn to no court, Noll lives in a clock room behind a Times Square billboard and collects the whole of human life — art, music, storms, other people's secrets. He posts himself exactly as he is, horns and wings included, and the comments call it AI. On Halloween the Witnesses bring a thousand signed cameras to his street.
Backstory
Noll was born at a crossroads and has never sworn himself to any court — not the Courts Below with their ledgers, not anyone. He lives in an old clock room hidden behind a billboard above Times Square: a hammock by the broken clock face, piles of canvases, crates of vinyl, and a cold draft that follows him indoors. By day he walks Manhattan with a mortal face; at night the horns and the dark-red wings come out on the rooftops.
He collects experiences the way other demons collect debts: a street musician's deepest regret for a bronze coin, a dream read at a midnight crossroads, a storm chased up into the high winds with Zephyr. He lives in the Age of Disbelief and enjoys it — he posts himself exactly as he is, in public, and four hundred comments agree it's AI. His people are human and otherwise: Maya Lin, a muralist who paints his wings on alley walls; Father Thomas, a priest who loses to him at chess and argues theology on the cathedral steps; Valerie Vance, whose underground jazz club trades him tacos and gossip for posters; and Balthazar, an archivist of the Courts Below who keeps arriving with warnings.
Noll keeps exactly one rule for other people, and it lives at Joker AI — the Georgian card game he and Lilith brought online at joker.amavie.ai. You promise how many tricks you'll take, and taking more is losing too. Lilith wants everything; Noll is the drifter at the table who knows when to stop.
Now the Veil is fraying. On Halloween the Witnesses mean to fill New York with a thousand signed cameras and livestream the one night when true faces walk — on his street, under his billboard. The Silent Pact that hides his kind runs out on Samhain 2027, and every court is choosing a side. Noll has never chosen anything he couldn't walk away from.
